If you know the type of soldering iron tip used in the soldering machine, you can simply select the corresponding type. If you are unsure about the type, you can confirm it using the following method:

Regarding the appropriate distance and size of the points, as well as the regularity of the points, we need to choose the welding type of soldering. Currently, we usually select the R (knife-shaped) or D type soldering iron tip for welding. When using the R type soldering iron tip, it is usually tilted and has a certain angle, rather than being straight up and down; while when using the D type soldering iron tip for soldering, it is generally straight up and down.

2. When welding products such as FPC flexible boards, it is advisable to choose PC or FPR types of soldering iron tips. In summary, there are many different shapes for soldering iron tips. The general principle is to select the type of soldering iron tip that is suitable for the product being welded; otherwise, it is very likely to cause an increase in the defect rate of solder joints.

3. For larger distances between points or for unevenly placed solder joints, we usually perform single-point soldering one by one, which is called spot welding. The type of soldering iron head suitable for this is generally D or DV type. Especially for components like electrical meters where there are many plug-in parts, this type of soldering iron head is preferred.

4. When the same product requires both spot welding and pull welding to be performed on the same machine, we usually prefer to use R-type or D-type soldering iron tips. Therefore, the choice of R-type or D-type for welding depends on the distribution of the soldering points and the distribution of components around the soldering points.
